Systems and Network Administrator

The Systems and Network Administrator is responsible for monitoring and supporting complex IT solutions while maintaining industry’s best practices. This also includes configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all new and existing hardware, software for Eye Care Leaders. Working closely with Datacenter Architecture Team in order to support, document and become go to person for new technology solutions. Candidate will be responsible to answer, escalate and resolve issues related to Windows/Linux desktops, office network, server software applications, and virtualized systems.
Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
Ensures local data and server systems are backed up on a regular basis and ensure backup integrity through restore tests.
Works closely with Systems Operations and Engineering teams in order to escalate and troubleshoot network issues as they arise.
Identify any VPN tunnel issues and troubleshoot accordingly.
Responsible for tracking time spent on tickets/projects using ticketing system.
Work as a team player providing excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
Create and maintain technical documentation using professional guidelines and industry best practices.
Maintain and support Windows 8, Windows 10, Server 2008 and 2012 R2, Linux CentOS/Ubuntu.
Administer and troubleshoot Office 365 subscriptions for tenants.
Administer MDM installation and monitoring for endpoint security
Monitor all mission critical systems using PRTG software.
Review Windows/Linux System logs in order to diagnose possible issues and proactively resolve them.
Implementation and validation of upgrades or changes to local IT assets while adhering to change management policy.
3+ years’ experience provisioning, operating and managing laptop and desktop systems.
Experience provisioning, operating and managing Office 365 environments
Must be able to effectively and appropriately communicate in English with customer base and Internal employees.
Management and support of Cisco Meraki networking equipment
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Using packet capture analysis tools such as Wireshark to troubleshoot issues.
Creates technical documentation to keep track of all information pertaining to projects
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
3 to 5 Years of Experience in Help Desk Support.
ITIL v3 Foundations, MCSA, VCP certifications a plus
Strong interpersonal skills and presentation skills
